From completed work to a draft invoice

A customer brief asks Agent to create a service delivery project with three tasks: enquiry reply templates, quote follow-up and a booking handover checklist. The project and tasks can be opened to inspect deliverables and acceptance checks.

The operator chooses a customer and saves an hourly rate. Work is moved across the board, with updates and time recorded against tasks. Manual time logging and a plain-English agent request show billable and non-billable entries, which are checked in time history.

Agent prepares practical outputs as issue comments. In Billing, the operator selects the project, previews available time and reviews the customer, date and issue lines. Non-billable time is excluded from the invoice selection.

The selected entries become an unsent draft invoice in Xero. The operator opens the draft and checks the customer, Linear task references and total. The invoice stays in Draft for owner review.

HOW THE WORK MOVES

Context travels with the work.

01 / PLAN

A brief becomes useful tasks

Agent structures the request into a Linear project and tasks, with deliverables and acceptance checks the team can inspect.

02 / DELIVER

Keep the evidence close

Task updates, agent outputs and time history sit alongside the work. Review what was done and distinguish billable from non-billable time.

03 / REVIEW & BILL

Prepare a draft, then check it

Review selected time, rates and issue lines before creating the Xero draft. Check the matching invoice in Xero before deciding what happens next.

LESS ADMIN. BETTER VISIBILITY.

Save the re-entry.
Keep the judgement.

Practical coordination across planning, delivery and finance, with people at the review points.

Reduce repetitive administration

Carry task references and billing context forward instead of rebuilding the story from separate notes and spreadsheets.

Make quality easier to review

Clear acceptance checks, recorded work and invoice lines give reviewers a consistent trail from the original request to the draft.

Keep decisions visible

Inspect agent-created tasks, check time entries and review billing details. A prepared draft gives the owner a clear point to check before sending.
